ASME B16.34 Full Bore Stellite Seal BS1873 Globe Valve With Plug Disc

 

Features:

  1. Operating. Large handwheel for easy operation. Also available with gearing, motor actuators, pneumatic or hydraulic actuators for more difficult eService.
  2. OS &Y. Cast steel globe valve yolk integral with bonnet for 10” and smaller.
  3. End connection. A choice of flange, RTJ, flanged and BW ends for piping flexibility.
  4. Lantern Ring and Double Packing Set Lantern ring with leak-off fitting connection ad double packing stack is optionally available for critical services.
  5. Types of Disc. The plug disc is guided by the stem on all sizes. The disc has a different angle from the seat to provide a point contact for maximum sealing performance. The V-disc is guided by the boy seat rign for maximum stability in throttling applications. The soft TEFLON ring is excellent for low temperature services when tight shut off is required.
  6. Live load packing.
    In services requiring frequent cycling or with high pressure/temperature variations, live loading extending the service life between maintenance periods by requiring less frequent packing gland adjustment. Believeille springs are employed to provide constant packing gland stress.
  7. Bolted Bonnet.
    Welded Bonnet ad pressure seal bonnets are available for services with frequent cycling and with high pressure/temperature variations.
  8. Yoke Sleeve.
    Supplied with aluminum bronze to reduce operating torque. Most sizes are furnished with ball bearing yoke sleeves.
  9. Body-to-bonnet Joint.
    A male and female joint or tongue and groove joint is used for 150Lb to 600Lb valves. Ring joint is used in body to bonnet connection in 900Lb and higher.
  10. Seat Ring.
    Separate heavy duty, full ported rings for easy maintenance.Welded connection into body will be provided.

 

 

Disk & Seat & Stem of Globe valves

 

DISK: The most common disk designs for Globe valves are: ball disk, composition disk and the plug disk. Ball disk design is used primarily in low pressure and low temperature systems. It is capable of throttling flow, but in principle it is applied to stop and start flow.

Composition disk design uses a hard, non-metallic insert ring on the disk, which ensures a tighter closure.

Plug disk design provides better throttling than ball or composition designs. They are available in many different designs and they are all long and tapered.

 

SEAT: Globe valve seats are either integrated or screwed in to the valve body. Many Globe valves have backseats inside the Bonnet. Back seats provides a seal between the stem and Bonnet and prevents system pressure from building against the valve packing, when the valve is fully open. Back seats are often applied in Globe valves.

 

STEM: Globe valves uses two methods for connecting the disk and the stem: the T-slot and the disk nut construction. In the T-slot design, the disk slides over the stem, while in the disk nut design, the disk is screwed into the stem.

 

 

There are three primary body designs for Globe valves, namely: T Pattern, Angle Pattern and Y Pattern or Y-body body.
